Stumping for the city council
At a Monday workshop meeting, the council approved a project to switch all traffic signals to energy-efficient LED lighting assisted by federal money obtained with the help of U.S. Rep. Debbie Halvorson, D-Crete.

But first Webb announced he will be a candidate in the April 5 election for mayor.
“You’re out of order,” Councilman Thomas Giarrante, also a mayoral candidate, snapped at Webb, who proceeded on to other business.

No one cut Councilman Warren Dorris short the next day at the regular council meeting as he announced he would not seek re-election in District 5 in April, reminisced about his 24 years as councilman, and said he was likely to have an announcement in a few weeks about his political future.
That likely means Dorris will run for mayor.
